Well one thing’s certain – all of America’s watching Dancing with the Stars this season! With contestants like Marlee Matlin, Kristi Yamaguchi, Adam Carolla, Steve Guttenberg, Monica Seles and Priscilla Presley every week seems to bring new drama and better dance moves! Speaking of dance moves – I was so inspired by the workout this show offers I just had to order this Dancing With the Stars DVD. Just for a balanced workout, I check out Denise Austin’s dance work out DVD Fat Burning Dance Mix.
If you were one of the few who didn’t watch the show this week – let it be known that Rock n’ Roll’s first lady – the gorgeous 62 year-old Priscilla Presley - was voted off this week for her bad salsa moves. She was very gracious about leaving, and said the show was a life-changing experience. Speaking of Priscilla’s life experiences – have you read: Elvis and Me or Elvis By the Presleys? Two great books about the King and Priscilla.

Sad news this past week in Hollywood as living legend Charlton Heston died April 5th at his home in Beverly Hills, California. Heston, perhaps best known for his roles in Ben-Hur and Planet of the Apes, had a career that spanned over 60 years. Charlton Heston, known as Chuck to friends (including the Reagan’s), was ruggedly handsome and had a classic face which allowed him to easily step into the role of Marc Antony in Julius Caesar or Moses in The Ten Commandments. Later in life, Heston would be best known for his avid support of the National Rifle Association (NRA) and would later serve as president of this organization. Charlton Heston was a man of virility and magnitude and he will always be remembered as such in his films.

Who can forget the scene from When Harry Met Sally when Harry (Billy Crystal) and Sally (Meg Ryan) are simultaneously watching Casablanca on television? This uber-romantic Hollywood movie moment may soon have competition with Madonna trying to re-make the 1942 Hollywood classic. Apparently, Madonna wants to star in the film and hopes to have the film remade in Iraq instead of, well, Casablanca. I wonder if Iraq has the same romantic ring as Casablanca? Thoughts?
Sadly, Madonna’s previous re-make with her husband Guy Ritchie Swept Away was quite the tanker. It should have never been re-made and let’s hope for the sake of this timeless American cinematic classic, Casablanca will remain untouched!
