Don’t Cry for Madonna; Cry for Her Dream to Re-Make Casablanca

Who can forget the scene from When Harry Met Sally when Harry (Billy Crystal) and Sally (Meg Ryan) are simultaneously watching Casablanca on television? This uber-romantic Hollywood movie moment may soon have competition with Madonna trying to re-make the 1942 Hollywood classic. Apparently, Madonna wants to star in the film and hopes to have the film remade in Iraq instead of, well, Casablanca. I wonder if Iraq has the same romantic ring as Casablanca? Thoughts?

Sadly, Madonna’s previous re-make with her husband Guy Ritchie Swept Away was quite the tanker. It should have never been re-made and let’s hope for the sake of this timeless American cinematic classic, Casablanca will remain untouched!
