21 Tops the Box Office this Past Week and Its Soundtrack Tops Our CD Rotation!
April 4, 2008 by Romy
If you’re hip to the beat you know that soundtracks are the place to find all the latest and greatest music out these days. Just check out the Juno soundtrack and you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about. This week 21 hit box offices in a big way and its soundtrack is even more incredible. If you’ve been reading the blog, you know how much we loooove MGMT – and they’re on this album. Mark Ronson and Peter Bjorn and John make an appearance and even Rihanna seems to round off this incredible album with her song “Shut Up and Drive.” Do yourself a favor – check out the soundtrack to 21 this month and see what everyone is listening to!

April 4, 2008 by Romy
Last month, political satirist and former New York Times columnist, William Safire released the updated and expanded version of his book Safire’s Political Dictionary just in time for the 2008
In fact, Safire was once a senior speechwriter for Richard Nixon and later his writing in New York Times would help him to earn a Pulitzer Prize in 1978. Clearly this man knows his politics! And hopefully you were able to check this author out on the Daily Show April 2nd to see him talk about this book.

George W. Bushisms Edited by Jacob Weisberg
The brief quotes from George W. Bush collected here highlight his tendency to malapropism, and they show just how witty and prepared he sometimes is–or is not. The scholarly apparatus of this book consists of a published source and a date for each utterance.

Don’t Cry for Madonna; Cry for Her Dream to Re-Make Casablanca
April 4, 2008 by Romy

Who can forget the scene from When Harry Met Sally when Harry (Billy Crystal) and Sally (Meg Ryan) are simultaneously watching Casablanca on television? This uber-romantic Hollywood movie moment may soon have competition with Madonna trying to re-make the 1942
Sadly, Madonna’s previous re-make with her husband Guy Ritchie Swept Away was quite the tanker. It should have never been re-made and let’s hope for the sake of this timeless American cinematic classic,
